There are those who adore Paris, and those who find it overrated. We at Voir Visuals firmly belong to the former camp. We revel in the beauty, the elegance, the culture, and the rich history that Paris offers. It’s safe to say that a significant portion of our inspiration comes from a Francophile perspective. While based in South Africa, we’ve immersed ourselves in the world of French artists, architecture, and especially the grandeur of the Palace of Versailles. In fact, when we founded Voir Visuals, we were deeply influenced by the French ethos of thoughtful execution—nothing is done without careful consideration.

We recently visited Paris in the summer of 2024, and it was breathtaking. Our days in South Africa often begin at five or six in the morning, a contrast to the Parisian rhythm where life truly comes alive around nine or ten. This difference in pace allowed us to experience a unique side of the city. We were up early, capturing the stunning cityscapes of Paris, truly soaking in the scenery. It was an incredibly inspiring experience, giving us so much to think about and dream about for our photography.

So, we called our trip “From Paris with Love.” And it truly was. We found love in the city—not the romantic kind (though Paris certainly has that in spades!), but a deep love for its artistry, its history, and its undeniable charm.

While it’s often called the City of Love, and it certainly lives up to that name, our affection for Paris goes beyond romance. For us, it’s about the inspiration we find in every corner, the way the city sparks our creativity.

And speaking of inspiration, nothing captivates us quite like the Palace of Versailles. It’s more than just a palace; it’s a masterpiece. The sheer scale of it is breathtaking, and the intricate details—from the Hall of Mirrors to the meticulously manicured gardens—are simply awe-inspiring. Versailles embodies the grandeur and elegance that inspires our photography, and we are particularly drawn to the possibility of capturing such beauty at a Chateau wedding.

It’s a testament to artistry, craftsmanship, and vision—qualities that we deeply admire and try to reflect in our work at Voir Visuals. The Palace of Versailles is a dream destination for any photographer, and especially for us, it’s a constant source of inspiration. The history, the architecture, the sheer opulence – it’s all so inspiring. We could spend days wandering the grounds, discovering new perspectives and details to admire. It truly is a photographer’s paradise, and it fuels our passion for capturing beauty and creating art. We were also particularly impressed by the Hotel Airelles Château de Versailles, a stunning venue that perfectly complements the grandeur of the palace.

This trip to Paris, and our time at Versailles, has reignited our passion for photography and given us so much to bring back to our work. We’re excited to incorporate the inspiration we’ve gained into our upcoming projects, whether it’s a Chateau wedding in France, a destination wedding in another part of Europe, or a special event closer to home in South Africa. We believe that every event, every couple, has a unique story to tell, and we’re dedicated to capturing those stories with artistry and precision, just like the master craftsmen who created the Palace of Versailles.
